STG operates in every major gateway seaport along the coasts and gulf. In many of those same cities, we support air cargo operations. Inland and along the coasts, we operate an IPI network whose capacity and reach are without equal in our industry.
We, like you, were presented with numerous challenges throughout the year. We have been focused on encouraging vaccinations and keeping our employees healthy, an extremely important mission as we manage the typical winter cold and flu season and ever-changing COVID landscape. Our teams have worked hard in all our buildings and our HR leadership has remained relentlessly focused on continuing to add to that talent. In 2022, we are investing significant resources in recruitment and retention, underscoring our commitment to what we say everywhere you see our name, "Our people are the difference."
The fluid and unpredictable situation of port and rail congestion we share with our customers has allowed us to deepen our relationships, working even more closely with you as together we seek to minimize delays outside our control and move as quickly as possible to make cargo available and delivered safely to its final destination.
Speaking of cargo safety and final mile, this year STG unveiled STG Shield, a product designed to provide insurance coverage between our warehouse and the recipient at a low, affordable rate. For clients struggling to secure price-competitive trucking capacity, we brought to bear our strength as one of the nation's largest purchasers of domestic final mile and intermodal transportation to unveil QuickQuote - an easy way to deliver freight off our dock and offer customers the chance to freeze the storage clock when we receive their delivery order.
This was also a year of new and expanded buildings and added companies, including Arrowpac in New Jersey and International Warehouse Services in Miami. Both of these long-tenured, well-respected names in their markets have made us stronger and we look forward to further integrating them in 2022.
